A gentle struggle that must not go unnoticed. When we commemorate the Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy every year, we remember the names of the men who stood in the streets, in the stands, or at the center of the action. But the revolution of 1989 was also carried on the shoulders of women, activists, artists, students, mothers, and daughters. Their “gentle struggle” was just as courageous and indispensable, only less visible. Without their enthusiasm, preparedness, sacrifice, and quiet courage, the freedom we experience today would not have had a chance to triumph.

In our discussion, we will look together at the active and irreplaceable participation of women in the revolutionary changes of November 1989, their share in the victory, which is little talked about, and the debt that society still owes them.

Come and pay tribute to those who fought "gently" but tirelessly. To the women thanks to whom we can not only celebrate freedom, but also live it. The guests of the discussion will be women who experienced the Gentle Revolution, shaped it and still live by its values: Ľudmila Pastierová, Zuzana Mistríková, Oľga Gyárfášová and Zuzana Maďarová. Moderated by Jana Cviková.

Free admission.
