Hungarian Crown at Bratislava Castle
The most important of the crown jewels was the crown, the symbol and source of the monarch's legitimate power. It was called the Sacra Corona, or Holy Crown.
During the Bratislava Coronation Days, a copy will be specially exhibited in the premises of the SNM - Historical Museum at Bratislava Castle Hungarian crown, which was commissioned by the Slovak National Museum. It was made in 1967 by goldsmith Lajos Bartha and his team in a Budapest workshop and is an interesting document of the period's jewelry work, techniques and procedures used.
Museum visitors will have the opportunity to Bratislava Coronation Days 2026 a unique opportunity to see the crown for the first time after its recent comprehensive restoration. You can find the Hungarian (St. Stephen's) Crown, along with other interesting objects, as well as a portrait of Maria Theresa, on the 1st floor of Bratislava Castle.
