A date with the city for children: Oh, I, the unfortunate landlord

Statement "Oh, I, an unfortunate landlord!" comes from the popular animated film The Robber Jurošík (1991). One of the prominent characters is the landowner Pišta, who is constantly worried by bandits. His famous catchphrase is comical and expresses exaggerated, sometimes even feigned, regret over his own unfortunate fate.

But what was the life of the landowners like in reality? Was the position of the nobility really as carefree as we imagine it today, or did the landowners also have to face serious problems of their own? And what about their subjects – what obligations did they have towards their lords and in what conditions did they live?
