Algeria, 1938. Meursalut (Benjamin Voisin), a quiet, inconspicuous employee in his thirties, attends his mother's funeral without visible emotion. The next day, he begins an affair with Maria (Rebecca Marder), his former colleague from work, and returns to his usual daily life. However, this is soon disrupted by his neighbor Raymond (Pierre Lottin), who draws Meursalut into dubious machinations - until one hot day on the beach, a fateful drama comes to pass... A black-and-white film based on the novel by a literary classic Albert Camus, premiered in 2025 on Venice International Film Festival.
