The SPOJÁR brass band was formed in 1938 by former post and telegraph workers.

Its first conductor was Mr. Jozef Matysko. In 1949, the group of musicians was incorporated into the Postmen's House. Since its inception, twelve conductors have taken turns at the conductor's desk, including Mr. Ort, Jankovič, Holoubek, Kowalski, Valentík, Molnár, Thur, Kubáček and others. Among the members, the personality of Michal Krúpa should be mentioned. The founder of this orchestra was the long-time chairman, bass trumpet player Ján Balucha.

Since September 1, 1996, the orchestra has been led by conductor Anton MÁLIK.

The SPOJÁR brass band ranks among medium-sized brass bands in terms of the number of its members and documents not only the musical maturity, but also the mission of Slovak brass music. We are the only postal brass band in Slovakia. The members of the orchestra are bound and united by a love for brass music. We should thank each of them for their immense dedication, consistency, understanding and feeling for music.

The SPOJÁR brass band has performed hundreds of times, especially at promenade concerts, public, sports and social activities, but also at commemorative events. The group is known to lovers of good brass music for its performances at promenade concerts organized as part of the Bratislava Cultural Summer.

In her continuous activity so far, she has achieved many successes and awards in competitions organized in Slovakia and abroad.

She has participated in several recordings for Slovak Radio and Slovak Television. She has also won awards at the international level - including winning the bronze medal in the "ZLATÁ LÝRA" Rybník 2001 competition in the Republic of Poland.

Participation in the 24th annual Pádivé Trenčín festival in September 2003 brought the band a bronze medal.

In August 2005, we organized a three-day meeting of brass bands in Bratislava as part of the Euroregion. The invitation was accepted by the DUBLIN POST BAND from Ireland and Blasmusik Neusiedl am See from Austria.

We attended the last festival held within the Visegrad Four in June 2007 in Poland.

The successful activity is currently documented by completed foreign concert tours in Hungary, Norway, Austria and Poland.

The concert program is engaging and genre-diverse. It offers the audience a diverse palette of different musical genres such as: evergreens, folk songs, carnival songs, Christmas songs and carols, folklore fantasies, dance, popular and instrumental pieces, and transcriptions of classical compositions.
