Open Monuments Day in Prievoz 2026

Prievoz is the only part of Ružinov where several historical monuments have been preserved to this day. However, many of them remain out of the public eye. That is why the fifth time will be held Open Monuments Day in Prievoz, which invites residents and visitors to discover the history of this part of the city and get to know its lesser-known places.

The jubilee fifth year will be held on the premises Csáky's gardening, a historic site that is gradually coming to life thanks to the activities of the local community. Over the past year, volunteer brigades have been taking place here to clean up the area and uncover the remains of the former greenhouses. The event builds on these efforts and brings the history and value of this unique space closer to visitors.

The program will offer discussions about the history of the area, meetings with monuments, guided tours of the area, and an exhibition of works by local artists and students of Mierová Elementary School. Visitors will learn more about the history of this place, its significance for Prievoz, and the possibilities for its future use.

The project will also include the installation of a new information board dedicated to Csáky's gardening, which will expand the series of boards installed in previous years at the Municipal Hall, the church and the Fire Department in Prievoz. A postcard with the motif of Csáky's mansion, created by a local painter, will also be prepared.

This year, the event will be held in collaboration with the Architecture Day festival, which will introduce the history of Prievoz to a wider audience from all over Bratislava. Come discover a new place, meet people dedicated to its restoration, and experience a day full of history, art, and encounters.
