November 17th – a symbol of freedom, but one that still raises questions. Its story is not black and white or closed. Sometimes it is celebrated as the heroism of individuals, other times it is turned into a tool of political disputes. So how should we remember November today?

The discussion will take place with:

Host of the podcast Dejiny Agáta Šústová Drelová,

political scientist with a focus on gender studies Zuzana Maďarová,

and historian Matej Ivančík.

We will focus on how November 17 became an instrument of political struggle, what the role of women in revolutionary events meant, and why their role is often overlooked. How can November 17 be updated today? Who is the bearer of the revolution's legacy?

The event will be interpreted into Slovak Sign Language for the Deaf and hard of hearing. We therefore ask that you allow sufficient visibility of the interpreter.

The event will be held in the Faust Hall.

We are preparing the program in cooperation with the organization Mysłym – the center of culture for the Deaf.

You can buy tickets online. or at the Old Town Hall box office.
