Running for Freedom

The Freedom Run is a student event organized LEAF Academy students on the occasion Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy and International Students' DaySymbolically, on November 17th, we will run from Bratislava to the Austrian border and back (10 km), as a reminder of open borders and the historic first step of Slovaks towards freedom in 1989.

The event is not just about athletic performance. It is an expression of gratitude for the opportunity to live, think and act freely. Every step on the track reminds us that freedom is not taken for granted – and that each of us can contribute to a better world through our actions.

The Run for Freedom is also connected to a collection for the civic association The way out, which helps people trapped in poverty to stand on their own feet, get a job and a dignified life. Their programs support children, youth and adults on their way out of the vicious cycle of poverty.

Join us – run, cheer or symbolically support those who are looking for their way out. Together we can show that Freedom is a value worth fighting for every day.

You can attend the event Free or you can support the event by paying the entrance fee. The event is needs register HERE.
