This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the death of the great poet, playwright, translator... But why remember Hviezdoslav only with pathos? Three-day festival (7. - 9. 11.) Hommage à Hvie100slav will be in DPOH associated with jokes, music and s nadhľadom.
Zuzanka Hraškovie in by the three Zuzies (7. 11.)
The well-known tragic story of the orphan Zuzanka Hraškovie, who was abused by her stepmother, is probably familiar to all of us from school. At the PO Hviezdoslava Theatre, you can watch three variations of this famous epic story. The stage performance will be performed by three actresses – three Zuzkas – Zuzana Mauréry, Zuzana Vačková and Zuzana Porubjaková, directed by Valerie Schulczová. The other two will be performed by graduates of the Children's Theatre Workshop, which took place at the DPOH in the summer of this year. The dramatic performance of Zuzanka Hraškovie was the final theatre performance that the children prepared during the workshop. The musical guest of the evening will be Kamil Mikulčík with his band, and the evening will be accompanied by comedian Simona Salátová.

- O. Hviezdoslav: Bloody Sonnets
Hviezdoslav wrote the Bloody Sonnets in 1914 as his reaction to the horrors of World War I. But how do the poet's anti-war verses sound in English, Bulgarian, German or Croatian? On Monday, November 8th at 16.00 They will be read in their native language by 20 ambassadors from different countries.

"I like to experiment, but tackling the language of our greatest poet, whose poetry is for many only a school subject, required more courage. His debut will be part of the concert.
Special Games in DPOH (9. 11.)
The ninth episode of Zuzana Kovačič Hanzelová's popular talk show will be dedicated to literature, and of course - to maestro Hviezdoslav. The guests will be stand-up comedians Simona Salátová and Samo Trnka. The musical guest of the evening will be Katarína Máliková. "Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav. I would probably call him Mr. Paľko if I met him, maybe not. There are people you address by their full name. They are not given a name or nickname, because no matter how you remember or address them, their personality erases all customs. They go beyond decency, they compensate for etiquette just by being. Geniuses whose names we pronounce in full in honor of them, their work and all the others that came into being through them. If I had my family tree drawn up, day and night I would hope that I am at least a fifteenth of Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav. And even if it is not by blood, he created much of the dormant art in me anyway. You may not see him, you may not feel him. But everything that comes out of me is touched by him. Deep in my own universe. That is why it is an honor for me to celebrate him," Simona Salátová spoke poetically.
During the three festival nights, we will project Hviezdoslav's sonnets onto the facade of the theater, which were graphically processed by students of the Academy of Fine Arts.
