Date with the city: Bratislava's Donaustadt

Our city and its development have been shaped by the Danube since its beginnings. Many of today's streets of the Old Town to the southeast of the historic fortified city were just a stinking canal a few hundred years ago. The great development that our city experienced in the second half of the 19th century and then again after the First and Second World Wars changed the image of old Bratislava forever. Factories and workers' tenement houses began to grow along the Danube. What did Šafárik Square look like in those days? What can be deduced from the name of Grösslingova Street? Why is Jakubovo Square one of the most picturesque outside the historic city center? Which buildings and monuments are a remnant of this factory history? You will learn all this and much more during a tour of Bratislava's Danube City.
