Zora
The building of the former Zora cinema in Trnávka, which was entrusted to the management of BKIS in 2021, has been transferred to the management of the capital city since June 3, 2026, which will ensure the reconstruction of the building, especially its interior and technical equipment.
After the reconstruction, the plan is to entrust the building to the administration of the Ružinov Municipal District, specifically to the Cultus Ružinov organization, which should subsequently bring live operation to the building in the form of a cultural and community center intended for long-term use not only by the residents of Ružinov, but for all Bratislava residents.

Discussion morning at Zora
In cooperation with the Department of Culture of the Slovak capital Bratislava, we met with you at a participatory meeting on the topic of the future use of the former ZORA Cinema on April 24, 2022 during the Bratislava City Days. We thank everyone who joined the lively discussion and contributed their suggestions and ideas.
Participatory meeting "How Zora grows"
At a participatory meeting on September 21, 2022 on the future operation of the Zora Cinema, we evaluated the results of previous activities and a questionnaire. Our form from the beginning of the year was filled out by almost 150 local residents. The predominant wishes are to bring back to the area cultural activities that the residents of Trnávka and the surrounding area lack in their neighborhood, but also specific wishes such as creating a café, a space for activities with children and seniors, or continuing film screenings. We are pleased that Trnávka has a strong neighborhood community that wants to have the opportunity to further develop and thrive culturally.

1st stage of reconstruction to eliminate the emergency condition
As part of the 1st stage in 2022, we removed damaged facade plaster, repaired the external perimeter walls, removed the grilles and replaced the original windows with new ones. At the same time, the roof coverings were renovated, the chimney bodies and the lightning rod were plastered. We also replaced the outdoor lights with LEDs and treated the outdoor steel structures on the building - railings, ladders, footbridge, flagpoles, etc.
2nd stage of reconstruction – preparatory design work
Preparatory project work for demolition and masonry work, replacement of electrical installations, heating distribution and overall interior reconstruction.
The implementation of the 2nd stage of the reconstruction of the Zora cinema building will continue after the approval of funds by the Capital City of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava. We will inform you about the launch date.
