Bratislava Coronation Days 2026

Na three days Bratislava will go back in time and once again become Prešpork – the city of coronations, festivities and royal traditions. The streets of the historic centre will come alive with music, processions, knights and the atmosphere of the times when wine flowed from fountains during coronations and the whole city celebrated the new monarch.

In 2026, the crowned monarch herself will be Maria Theresa one of the most important figures in European history.

Friday, July 24, 2026 – Knight's Evening on the Embankment

📍 Tyršovo embankment

Friday's program opens with an evening dedicated to knightly culture and period entertainment.

Visitors will see:

• theatrical performances with knights and court entertainment

• interactive performances clowns and entertainers

• breaking in horses before a tournament

• The arrival of the royal court and the falconer

• a grand jousting tournament in honor of the future coronation

Throughout the evening, there will also be accompanying activities for families with children, including rides on ponies and historical games.

The culmination of the evening is a big tournament in the historic arena by the Danube, followed by meetings and photo shoots with the performers.

Saturday, July 25, 2026 – Coronation Day and Procession through the City

Saturday belongs to the most significant moment of the entire event – ​​the ceremonial coronation procession.

Coronation procession

In the afternoon, the historical procession sets off from castle to the city center. He is accompanied on his way by music, drums, and costumed performers.
