A date with the city: Villas of the First Republic

After the establishment of the First Czechoslovak Republic and the establishment of Bratislava as the capital of Slovakia, luxury villas were built near Bratislava's Palisades for solvent entrepreneurs, merchants, lawyers and public officials of the new republic. The natural flourishing of community life in this district was disrupted by World War II, which in many cases tragically affected the lives of the residents and creators of these villas. On the walk, we will introduce some of them. In particular, the works of Friedrich Weinwurm, Ignác Vécsei, Dušan Jurkovič, or the lesser-known Desidero Quastler, but also the fates of the residents associated with them.
Accompanied by: Nikola Bakardžiev
Deadline: November 25, 2023
The walking route is barrier-free.
