Above our city rises the majestic Bratislava Castle with an area the size of almost seven football fields. History was written here at every step and what we see today is the result of the influence of several ethnic groups and reconstructions in various architectural styles. During the last reconstruction, the castle was brought into its appearance from the time of Maria Theresa, but several elements also give us a glimpse of its appearance in previous periods. It was not long before the castle, which used to be the seat of the Hungarian kings, no longer had to stand here.
The first part of the tour will take place outdoors, We will walk through the grounds of Bratislava Castle with its Baroque garden and learn interesting facts about the history of the castle.
In the second part we will visit the Slovak National Museum – Historical Museum, which is located at Bratislava Castle, specifically an exhibition on the history of the castle, the castle chapel and the representative rooms of Francis Stephen of Lorraine, husband of Maria Theresa.
