A date with the city: Architectural duo Weinwurm – Vécsei

A date with the city

The phenomenal interwar architects and leading figures of Slovak functionalism significantly changed the appearance of Bratislava and contributed to its transformation into a modern metropolis. During 25 years of fruitful cooperation, they designed a number of remarkable buildings, villas and family houses, thus significantly contributing to the development of Slovak modern architecture. However, their talent and work were prematurely ended by the Second World War. On our walk together, we will rediscover their more or less well-known buildings, scattered from the villa district below Slavín to the city center.
