Zsolt Lehel

Lektor, bard of Bratislava guides, Hall of Fame 2010

A native of Bratislava, he studied geodesy at the Secondary Industrial School of Construction and, as an employee of the Bratislava Geodesy Company, mapped (not only Bratislava) monuments for a long time (1973–91). He has been interested in the history of Bratislava since childhood and has been passing on his deep knowledge for several decades – initially as the head of the local history guide group at the elementary school on Dunajská Street (1971–88), later also as a columnist in various periodicals (Večerník, Új Szó, Hét, Evanjelický posol spod Tatier, Vlastivedné bulletiny BIPS).

His main theme is the personality and work of the Bratislava sculptor Alojz Rigele. He is the author of two commemorative exhibitions (1974, 1990), a separate bulletin for the 100th anniversary of his birth (1979), as well as the monograph Alojz Rigele (2008).

He has been lecturing in the Tourism Guide course since 1979, primarily on the development of Bratislava architecture from the Gothic period to the Art Nouveau period.

In addition to his teaching and guiding activities, he is also involved full-time in the field of gastronomy - he is the founder and owner of the popular pancake house Lacinka.
