A date with the city: In the footsteps of our native Johann Nepomuk Hummel

Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778 – 1837) was the most important musician born in Prešpork, today's Bratislava. This composer and piano virtuoso is said to have surpassed his friend Beethoven in improvisation. He spent the first two years of his life here, later returning here three more times to give concerts and becoming an honorary member of the Church Music Society at St. Martin's Cathedral. We will start the tour at the JN Hummel Memorial House and follow in his footsteps to some of the places associated with his work.
