with guide Andrea Turanska

The Pálffys gained the trust of the Habsburgs and gradually, whether by gift, purchase or advantageous marriage, became one of the richest families in Bratislava and the surrounding area. They significantly influenced the events in the city and several important monuments still remind us of them today.
Who was the first significant member of the family? What role did Pavol Pálffy play in Hungary and why did the Habsburgs entrust him with the reconstruction of Bratislava Castle? How is the beautiful St. Nicholas Church under the castle connected to this family? Did anyone from this family really live to be over 200 years old? Which of their Bratislava palaces was rebuilt into a knitwear factory and how is the national enterprise Zornica connected to this family? Is the famous Ján Pálffy, who had the Bojnice Castle built, also connected to Bratislava?
During this tour, we will wander through a period of more than three hundred years, introducing the most important personalities and their contributions to the development of the country and our city.
