A date with the city for the Deaf: St. Martin's Cathedral and its stories

The largest church in Bratislava proudly towers above the buildings of the capital city, drawing our attention to the rich history of its walls with its majesty. Take a look inside this temple and its crypts and discover its treasures.

Here we find Saint Martin, the patron saint of the church, riding a horse – this statue comes from the workshop of one of the most important European Baroque artists of the 18th century.
The story of the Prešov spirit is told by a statue of the suffering Mary with her dying son in her arms (the so-called Pieta), and in the underground crypts we will learn about the burial methods of past generations. In the treasury in the church tower we will admire the delicate work of embroiderers and manufacturers of jewelry and church liturgical objects, among which is also a coronation chalice from the 16th century.
