City public transport

Municipal Public Transport (MHD) in Bratislava operates bus, tram and trolleybus lines. The first morning lines begin to operate around 4:20, and the last lines leave their first stops around 23:00. Night buses numbered N21 - N99 operate between 24:00 and 04:00. For taking a night bus you need to buy one 1,60 € ticket.

Single tickets valid for 15 (0,70 €) and 60 minutes (0,90 €). On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 60-minute tickets are extended to 90-minutes. Ticket are to be bought in ticket machines at most stops and at sales points of the Bratislava Municipal Transport Company (Dopravný podnik mesta Bratislavy, DPB). Is strongly recommended for visitors to buy 1, 2, 3 or 7-day tourist tickets, which can be purchased from ticket machines or from DPB sales points. The validity of single and tourist tickets begins when they are stamped at the nearest ticket-stamping machine inside the vehicle.

MHD discounted tickets are only valid for citizens of the Slovak Republic. You can make use of the special offer of a Bratislava City Card, which gives you free use of the MHD system for the duration of its validity.
