Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Citizens and Visitors of Bratislava,

I’m very happy that the Summer of Culture Festival Bratislava 2011 got its stable place among cultural events of our region and its 36th volume is certain proof that it addresses hundreds and even thousands fans of superior art by its multi-genre offer. This cultural marathon of dance, theatre, music, visual arts and other artistic forms also includes our cultural and educational institutes which are founded by the Bratislava Self-Governing Region.

I’m glad that this already well-profiled festival earned great name among fans of culture – indeed artists from all around the world meet in summer Bratislava and their great performances charm all age groups. Summer romantic mood with touch of history in the streets of capital is highlighted by unforgettable accompanying events, cathedral concerts amaze by majesty of church and cathedral premises, magnificent castle Devín will revive in historic fencing, impressive music and handicrafts. Summer of Culture becomes a lure for tourists every year and therefore we can offer them besides history, landmarks or gastronomic specialties also high-class portion of art for every day.

Dear citizens and visitors, I’d like to warmly invite you, as the chairman of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, to a walk through our city and I believe that you will choose something from the rich offer of the Summer of Culture. Bratislava and its vivid streets will surprise you through the forthcoming three months by nonrecurring atmosphere with spirit of lovely artistic ideas and possibility to enjoy bellyful of our capital.
