Dear Ladies and Gentleman, dear citizens and visitors of Bratislava,

Each element of human society has its own life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small company, international corporation, volleyball club, artistic ensemble, city or a small village in Záhorie. Bratislava is in fact also a community of people which have in common that they live in the capital city; they work, study and make their own small world here. Everybody likes to free from the stereotypes, experience something new and different. And because Slovaks have very friendly nature, positive relation to arts and like to entertain it’s no wonder that the Summer of Culture is so popular and every year visited by huge crowds of citizens and visitors of Bratislava. Proof of this is fact that this year will be organized already the 34th volume of the Summer of Culture. Various cultural and artistic events are annually visited by tens of thousands of people and this number is constantly increasing.

Let this year’s Summer of Culture Festival Bratislava 2009 be your gentle guide through the cultural life for the forthcoming summer months. I hope that also its 34th volume will be successful and thanks to it you will experience summer full of culture, beauty and fun.
