Bluegrass band COP from Plzeň, which belongs to the top in Czech Republic, was formed up in 1978 when its originator, guitarist and vocalist Michal Leicht was only 16. This vital band loaded with energy was successful since the very beginning. Most of the members have emigrated in 1982-83, only Michal stayed and brought the band back. In 1991 COP released first album and currently they’ve got already 8 CDs. Band regularly appears on tour at renowned stages – Zahrada, Porta, Jamboree (oldest bluegrass festival in Europe), Struny na ulici and others. They are popular abroad as evidenced by concerts in Great Britain, Slovakia and other countries. In 2002 COP was awarded by Anděl – price of Czech Music Academy.
