About the project
The exhibition is the first attempt to brand Slovak creativity which offers a unique opportunity to present new talents in the framework of various platforms at the most prestigious reviews of world design in Europe.
After the presentation of exhibition in LONDON /2007/, BERLIN, ROTTERDAM and PRAGUE /2008/, young Slovak designers are presenting their design prototypes within the Summer of Culture Festival Bratislava 2009 for the first time publicly in BRATISLAVA (2009).
Creater is a combination of various branches of Slovak creative industry – product design, visual communication and architecture, which were designed especially for this project. The aim of the exhibition is to create an opportunity for Slovak design to reach the world design scene. „We are pleased that besides interest from foreign countries grows interest of domestic companies which are willing to invest to Slovak author design.“ /Katarína Trnovská, curator/
The project originated in 2006 as a reaction to the existing creative work of young Slovak designers, the majority of whose products are still only prototypes. One of the ambitions of the exhibition is to present the so far unevaluated products of Slovak artists, whose innovative designs have a strong potential to interest the international public. Creater activates local producers and designers, provides their mutual contact and so directly supports domestic production.
