Events and activities, PKO's bodies and ensembles

Bratislava Culture and Information Centre organize and/or provide spaces for variety of cultural events and activities, namely:       

• Activities for children and camps
• Charitable projects
• Educational and tutorial projects
• Events for capital city Bratislava needs
• Concerts and activities of large scale (with capacity up to 2000 seats)  
• Rooms for trainings of the artistic ensembles and clubs
• Social and representation activities, balls and Beanus Parties
• Conferences and seminars, fairs and special exhibitions
• Great companies and commercial festivities  

   
Bratislava Culture and Information Centre realized during the year 2006, 332 activities whereof 254 of them were carried out in co-operation and 78 independently. Within the frame of the Cultural Summer there were carried out 182 activities.

There were carried out 8 weeks of summer camps for children (altogether 39 days) having different interesting focuses of activities – boating camp, art & crafts work room and others.

A considerable qualitative, as well as quantitative change in 2006 has undergone a season of the dancing courses. Based on endeavour to satisfy a great demand for ballroom dancing, in PKO have been opened as many as 9 independent cycles of Irish and belly dancing and salse. The ballroom dancing classes are given at the BKIS ground through the dancing school Jagermajster, Mr. Mário Kovács, European champion is giving classes of salse and the belly dance classes are given through skilled Xénia Chalasová.

 In 2006, clubs and musical whether theatre ensembles operating in PKO premises have realized as many as 600 exercises.

Bratislava Culture and Information Centre organizes whether co-organizes many prestigious regular and/or year after year extensively visited events, e.g. Bratislava Ball, Carnival in Bratislava, Bratislava Cultural Summer and Bratislava Castle Festival, Bratislava Jazz Club concerts cycle, Bratislava Jazz Days, Bratislava for all – self government opened doors day, Festival of historical fencing at Devín, Master Days at the castle, Country ball, Danube Cup – international dancing contest, New wine days, Afternoon for Seniors, Christmas Program for sellers of periodical Nota Bene, regular cultural programs for inhabitants of retirements homes and others.
